Human Trafficking From Africa To Europe
Sandra: Good day follew Nigerians. My name is Sandra Ide. I am a Nigerian from the South-south. I am twenty-two years old. My struggle for survival started when my father who was the breadwinner of my family died. [Pause in Sorrow] Then, I was 18 years and just completed my secondary school education. My two younger brothers were in JSS 1 and 2 respectively. After his death, my mother was deprieved of my father’s properties. We were driven away from our own house by my fathers’ relatives. They accused my mother of killing my dad because she refused to drink the water used to bathe my daddy’s corpse.
[She is given a white handkerchief to clean her tears by the modertor] Thank you.
After spending two days with our neighbour, my mother took us to her family’s house. They welcomed us but they too were poor and could not assist. On this fatefull day, I went to my mum [Recast] "Mama, am tired of wasting my time at home. I want to go to the city" [frown]
Mother: Who do you know in the city, you are going to meet? [Calmly]
Sandra: Mama, I don’t need to know anybody before going to the city. I m not a young girl anylonger [Sadly]
Mother: Then get married! [Violently]
Sandra: [Grumbling] mama am very serious. If you will permit let me go and meet uncle.
Mother: Which uncle?
Sandra: Mama! Uncle na!
Mother: Uncle Ozuwa?
Sandra: Yes mama
Mother: Okay, when do you want to leave
Sandra: Mama tomorrow morning before the sunrise.
Mother: But if my brother comes back from farm you have to tell him; so that he doesn’t get annouyed.
Sandra: Thanks mama, I will tell him [Happily]
